I’m Vicky to many, Vinh to some, V to a few.
I’m a Vancouverite, a lover of mountains, trees, and water (more the ocean than the rain, but the latter has its own charm too – at times).
This general blog is my attempt to amalgamate all my previous thoughts and reflections, floating around in the blogosphere, into one place – a virtual space to call my own. I like to think out loud and to engage others in conversation about what’s important in their world.
Thanks for visiting.

Vicky,
First of all thank you for sharing your work and your thoughts online!
I am doing some research on Vancouver’s East End and your remarkable photographs came to my attention via flicker. You seem to me to have a terrific eye for color that somehow brings the place to life and I’d be interested in getting permission to include one or two of your pictures in my dissertation, with an appropriate citation and credit.
Is there a good way to reach you?
( I tried to contact you via flicker but that mode wanted to commit me to allowing all sorts of cookies and advertisers to have access to my personal info and that did not sit well with me.)
If you respond to this message I will get a reply.
Thanks very much!
Robert Walsh
Hi Robert,
Thanks for your kind comments. I’d completely forgotten about those East End photos on Flickr and I’m glad that they are of use to someone doing research on this vibrant neighborhood—Vancouver’s earliest!
Please feel free to use whichever photos you desire for your dissertation—and thank you, for asking for permission.
I have to confess that I did edit those photos somewhat, to bring out the colors a little more…edits, I think, that simply enhance what is already there.
If you still need to reach me, just leave another comment, and perhaps we can connect via email (I see you had inputted yours when leaving a comment, so I can reach you that way if necessary).
Good luck in your research!
Vicky
